A day in the life of a Health Affairs Communications Specialist
As a Health Affairs Communications Specialist, you will be at the heart of Royal Canin in the Nordics. As this is a new role in the team, you will have an exciting opportunity to develop, implement and drive pet health scientific expertise and insights to all stakeholders in the pet ecosystem through superior communication, easy to understand by all. We are guided by the thrive to be the thought leader within Health Through Nutrition. We know that nutrition is fundamental for all cats and dogs, especially during the early stages of their lives. Our passion is to communicate and educate about our nutritional philosophy and there by improve the health of cats and dogs.
You will help to drive Royal Canin´s reputation through compelling training and education for our various stakeholders (external and internal). You will provide communication/marketing advocacy within the organization by being our scientific subject matter expert and capable to communicate our nutritional philosophy in a compelling and easy to understand way. Finally, you will review content from a scientific/factual and/or regulatory perspective.
We are looking for a Health Affairs Communications Specialists with language proficiency in Finnish and Swedish. It is important that you master both languages very well – both written and spoken since communication is a core skill in this role.
You will be a part of a team of five associates, and you will be reporting to the Health Affairs Marketing Manager.
Essential duties and responsibilities
You will also contribute to the following tasks:
Support the Royal Canin Nordic Scientific Key Opinion Leader strategy and engagement.
Being a communication specialist includes having the skillset to be proactive developing new and relevant content delivered through all relevant channels in a compelling way tailored towards our various target groups.
Provide input to the Health affairs communication strategy and plan, assuring that Royal Canin brand is communicated with the focus on nutrition science, quality, and food safety
Gather & provide inputs for external communication/marketing purposes
Deliver sales support through scientific communication/marketing
Participate in scientific conferences and keep abreast of current scientific knowledge and trends in the scientific community.
Deliver qualitative and compelling knowledge sharing in line with operating plan expectations via internal and external training in co-operation with the Academy Manager
Review content from a Scientific/factual and/or regulatory perspective scientific communication material as needed for marketing, digital etc.
Support Royal Canin involvement in trade events if relevant
What are we looking for?
We are looking for you if you are truly passionate about Communications, Marketing & Project Management. You’re used to take initiative, seek responsibility and drive for results. You are able to act in an agile context and are highly self-motivated. Additionally, you want to be a part of making a better world for pets – especially, cats & dogs.
Ideally you are/have:
Ideally a Master’s degree in Communication and/or Marketing or another related field
Minimum 2 years’ industry/scientific communication experience, pet food experience preferred
Experience in a multinational business environment will be a plus
Marketing or Communication experience from other industries desired
Experience and know-how from working in a scientific Business context – preferred
Excellent communication and presentations skills (oral and written) while also being tech savvy, as you will have to conduct compelling presentations towards various target groups
Fluent in Swedish and Finnish as well as English
